My name is Cameron Church, I am a representative from Verizon in the Wireless division.
I wanted to clear up some rumors as well as inform you about the Android OS product lines that Verizon supports like the MOTOROLA DROID, and the HTC ERIS. Now I hear a lot of ” No the ERIS cannot run 2.0″, or ” it will never get it”. I cannot speak for other providers and thier supporting models. But can confirm that HTC ERIS will be updated with the 2.0 Android operating system. The reason it was not released with it before was due to the phones time of release which was before Motorola DROID. The HTC ERIS will in time be getting a updated version that is specified for the ERIS and other smart phones that are not up to specifications that the DROID supplied for ANDROID 2.0.
ANDROID 2.0 was not designed for ERIS please remember that, but will be updated to that release, its only a matter of time so keep looking for updates from Verizon, as well as your accredited websites such as the official Android Website.
I hope this helps bring clarity to the rumors as well as the suspicions you may have with your products and your equipment.
