AT&T Getting Ready For iPad & New iPhone With Micro-SIMs

Ever heard of micro-SIM card before? If not then heres a comparison for you between SIM Card and micro-SIM card.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/96/GSM_Micro_SIM_Card_vs._GSM_Mini_Sim_Card.svg/362px-GSM_Micro_SIM_Card_vs._GSM_Mini_Sim_Card.svg.png Basically micro-SIM is smaller version of SIM card. Theres no big difference between the two. The new family member of the SIM Card family is exactly the same, the only difference is that it is minimized, thats all. Micro-SIM card is the next generation of SIM Card.

In any case, just in time for the Apple iPad 3G launch and upcoming next generation iPhone launch, AT&T stores have started receiving new SIM cards which have cutouts for both the regular SIM standard, and the new micro-SIM all in one.

I see this similar to micro SD and normal SD cards, but can micro SIM cards be used on normal SIM slots? In other words, is it backwards compatible? Great if it is, sucks if it doesn’t. As long as it ain’t another standards battle.
